CNC Machine Operator

The OSP Group are currently looking to recruit CNC Machine Operators on a temp to perm basis for an engineering company based in Colchester. The CNC Machine operative role requires the setting and production running of both turning centres and milling machines.

The role:

• CNC & milling and turning predominantly aluminium products
• Using Fanuc (M, I and O-T series) and Okuma controls
• Carry out set-up and in-cycle changes to maintain tolerance control
• Pillar drilling, tapping, polishing, cleaning and other tasks as required
• Inspection of incoming goods & tooling
• Replacing and maintaining tips/tooling as required
• Carry out machine/equipment preventative maintenance

The Key Requirements:

• Experience of setting and operating CNC lathes and mills with Fanuc or Okuma controls
• Previous factory experience
• Able to read engineering drawings
• Ability to work under own initiative
• Flexible approach to work
• Good understanding of quality control principles
• Good communication skills (verbal and written)

• Various shift patterns available:
– Monday – Thursday 07:15 – 15:45, Friday 07:15 – 12:15
– Monday – Thursday 06:00 – 14:00, Friday Fri 06:00 – 13:30
– Monday – Thursday 14:00 – 22:30, Friday 13:30 – 18:30
• Working hours of Monday to Friday with a half day finish on Fridays
• Overtime available
• An immediate start
• Working in clean environment with air replacement system and local extraction
• Being part of a friendly, collaborative team
